Day 5

Another great day in paradise although I burned my buns a bit.  Today we went back to Jumbie Bay and stayed almost all day.  Jack and I snorkeled a bit and saw some pretty cool fish.  The boys mostly played in the surf.

Then lunch out of the back of the Jeep and off to some exploring.  We dove over to Leinster Bay and Mase, Cale and I walked a trail while Jack and Ross sat on the beach for a little while.

On the way back to the villa we finally saw the wild donkeys, stopped to pick up pizza and made it home to see a beautiful sunset.

Awe...day 4. Vacation is almost over

Today was Ross's official birthday and he wanted to hang around the villa...so Dad and he played around for a while...then he, Mason and Cale played cards.  We had some poolside visitors, I think the boys said their were 3 of them.  Then we all headed to Cinnamon Bay for a few hours.  Then off to Cruz Bay for some window shopping and ice cream.  We came home for a taco dinner and birthday cake with matches for candles!

Day 2

Today we ventured to Salt Pond.  Getting there was an adventure.  We followed a herd of goats for a little while and drove on some road that felt like the asphault was going to fall right of the side of the mountain.  We parked and walked a few hundred yards to the beach.  Snorkeling was awesome.  We all saw some really cool fish.  I saw a stingray...it was a bit weird swimming with them.  Great time.

After 12 1/2 hours we reached paradise.

After a long day of traveling...car ride to the airport, 2 planes, a taxi, a ferry, to get the rental car and finally to the villa, Kia Ora in St. John...we had a spaghetti dinner and took a dip in the pool.  The next day we hit the beaches.  WOW...just georgous...pictures do not do it justice.  The kids, and Jack, said that the clear water and snorkeling made up for no waves...I'd say it more than made up for no waves.  We went to 3 beaches today - I know Maho Bay was one of them.  Jack's nailed driving on the left but we're hoping that nobody nails us...crazy drivers here and EVERY car has dings.  We walked around Cruz Bay a bit and hit the Beach Bar and browsed a few shops.  Picked up some fresh fish at the Fish Trap but we were too beat to cook so we picked up BBQ at Smokey Joes and man o' man was it ever finger lickin good!  We are all looking forward to a few beaches tomorrow at the other end of the Island.

Dinner and Cake

We are getting ready for vacation which falls on Ross's birthday so Grammy and Sammy came over for dinner and cake and we'll celebrate again in St. John.

Happy 12th birthday Buddaroo!
